discovery of the valley through the

Beartooth Highway Experiences relates reported incidents over the
seventy years of the Beartooth Highway in Montana and Wyoming from
the start of construction in 1931 through 2000.  Recent black and white
photographs are used to illustrate the book.  The Beartooth Highway

Absaroka Mountains 1893 and 1897, Jaggar's Diaries and Photographs is
an editing of Thomas Jaggar's diaries during the first geology survey of
the Absaroka Mountains on the eastern edge of Yellowstone National
Park.  Jaggar also took black and white glass plate photographs and
thirty-eight of the photographs are reproduced in the book.  Book is paper

maps and official records to look at what
would become Park County.  The review is
from 1492 to the county boundary changes to
1931.  A large part of the book covers the

Wyoming-Montana Border, They Followed the 45th, 1879-1880, is based
upon the original survey of the Wyoming Territory's northern boundary.  
The survey was conducted by Rollin Reeves under contract to the General
Land Office.  The book is based upon the original field notes with
emphasis on observations made and life during the expeditions along the
border.  The book is illustrated with current black and white maps to aid
in following the survey.   Book is paper back 8.5x11 inches with 173
pages.  $24.95.

A. K. A. The Tetons is a history of the Teton Mountains in
western Wyoming in maps from 1807 to 1920.  The book
provides details of the early explorations in the region and
the naming of the Three Tetons.  A case is made for the
transposition of the Teton name from the Three Buttes on
the Snake River Plain in Idaho.  At the time of the publication
no map was known to support this but a map has since
been found and is included in the Mapping Wyoming book.  
Sixteen black and white map illustrations are included.

A. K. A. Jackson Lake is a history of the lake in
Jackson Hole, Wyoming, in maps from 1807 to 1908.  
A brief review of the early explorers from the United
States is included.  The early probes into this territory
were for beaver fur acquisitions, military surveys and
as transits to other lands.  Twenty-nine black and
white map illustrations are included.   Book is paper
back 8.5x5.5 inches with 24 pages.  $3.95.

Hard Cover
Mapping Wyoming covers from the discovery of
America through to the 1930s with maps from 1796
to 1991.  Aspects of mapping include early
conjectures, fur trapping era, military expeditions,
geologic surveys, government boundaries, personal
travel accounts and atlas illustrations.  The Wyoming
Map Index provides a list of 773 maps relative to the
mapping of Wyoming from 1796 to 1991 with the
most comprehensive coverage from 1814 to 1890.  
The book has 518 illustrations of which 472 are
black and white illustrations from historical maps.   
Martino Publishing in Connecticut published the 387
page
limited edition book in hard cover late in 2007
